Club Lunch
Today marked a delightful gathering for the Club Lunch, attended by approximately 60 members, both playing and social, who revelled in an afternoon of camaraderie and culinary indulgence. The highlight of the event was the sumptuous venison roast dinner, prepared with care and accompanied by an array of flavourful vegetables that perfectly complemented the main course. Adding a touch of intrigue to the meal was the revelation of a "secret ingredient," which turned out to be an abundance of fine red wine—a fitting addition to elevate the flavours and the spirits of the attendees.
The venison, the star of the show, was generously supplied by Colin Peacock, through his connections within the abattoir community. His contribution was met with much appreciation, and the quality of the venison did not disappoint, earning high praise from all who partook. The indulgence didn't stop there. Dessert featured a luscious raspberry roly-poly served with cream, followed by a palate of assorted cheeses and biscuits, offering a perfect finish to the sumptuous meal.
President John expressed heartfelt thanks to the Club's wonderful cook, Sheila, and the organizer, Paula, for their incredible contributions to the event. Also to Mark Greenway for assembling the tables and chairs and of course, Jan & John for their continued and invaluable work behind the bar. JD offered grace before the meal, setting a warm and reflective tone for the gathering.
